For over 3 decades, I would have never expected I'd become a runner in any way, shape, or form. The notion of even completing one 5k seemed far-fetched, inconceivable was the thought of ever dreaming of a marathon finish. The thought of anyone ever referring to me as "a runner" seemed absolutely absurd.
Well, it seems that after happily participating in countless events ranging from 3.1 miles to 100, there's no denying that I'm happy to be considered a runner!With all the twists and turns my life has taken over the past decade from launching the ESPN Triathlon Team (before I ever learned to swim), becoming a race director by launching a running series before I'd ever really mastered the marathon to developing a deep love for all distances from 1 mile to 26.2 & beyond and becoming a full-time fitness author, coach and athlete - running has been a staple in my life. Running is my training, therapy, a chance to relax and unwind, the need for speed; slow and easy or fast and challenging - running is a huge part of my physical and mental well-being and has been my transportation on journeys I never would have expected both inside myself and over the tens of thousands of miles I've covered.7 Weeks to a 10k covers some of how and why I found my passion for running, and hopefully help you find it too. i loved it...well its a hate love relationship. its a great book and the way it gradually steps up the intensity and duration is really effective and makes it completely doable! the other books in this series are also good.
