About the Author
Athel Cornish-Bowden is, since 2009, Directeur de Recherche Emerite at the CNRS in Marseilles. He studied at the University of Oxford, and after post-doctoral research at the University of California, Berkeley, he spent the early part of his career at the University of Birmingham as Lecturer and later Senior Lecturer in the Department of Biochemistry. In 1987 he moved to France as Directeur de Recherche (1ere classe) in the CNRS in Marseilles. He has authored more than 200 scientific publications, including several books as author and as editor. He has served on the editorial boards of several journals.

Equations and figures are NOT legible

Please download the Kindle sample before you buy. This is widely recognized as an outstanding textbook, but, at least for my Kindle or my Kindle app, it has the same problems as every other book for which equations and/or diagrams are essential parts of the author's presentation. As far as I can tell, there is no way to expand the size of either the equations or the figures to make them legible. Until the e-publishers solve this problem, textbooks like this MUST be purchased as paper books.
I'd love to have this famous textbook on my Kindle, so if I am wrong about this, PLEASE tell me how to scale the equations and diagrams with the text.

Excellent book on enzyme kinetics

This is an excellent introduction to enzyme kinetics. The author's style is clear and lucid, explanations are repeated several times within the text, all the most relevant equations are included, and there are plenty of illustrations. Good questions are presented after each chapter; solution are also included. This edition also contains the short biographies of contributing scientists. Great work.

A very useful text for those working in enzyme kinetics

This is the most complete current reference for modern enzyme kinetics. While it is not totally comprehensive, it is a rich source of knowledge about enzyme kinetics that is written by a master of the subject. If one needs to learn about enzyme kinetics at a level beyond that presented in most modern biochemistry texts, this is the place to start.
