a)Als Ganzes sollen die vielfältigen Bedeutungen und der eigentliche (christliche) Sinn der Vaterschaft Gottes aufgezeigt und erklärt werden.
b)Dabei soll Klaus Bergers These, das Vaterunser enthalte „keine originär christlichen Elemente" und sei „nicht typisch für Jesus und seine Jünger" , anhand der Kirchenväter-Auslegung des Vaterunsers (teilweise) widerlegt werden.
c)Schließlich soll im Schlussteil das Ergebnis zusammengefasst werden, um dann die Gegenthese aufzustellen, dass „keiner Gott „Vater" nennen kann, außer im Glauben an Jesus Christus."
