An amazing account!

It's an amazing account of a man who was regarded as a freak and viewed as an object and died young. While he was alive, very few people, other than his family and maybe a few friends, saw him as a person, someone who with feelings, emotions, and longings. In this novel, Edouard Beaupre comes alive as a human being.
The novel is beautifully written (I understand it recently won an award for its excellence) and its sad but powerful story has helped me remember that all human beings have value for who they are, not how they appear.
